The car industry in Pakistan is booming as always but on the other hand it is also unstable due to some new policies and taxes applied by the government. In this blog I’m going to describe why it’s becoming so difficult for a new customer to buy a new or used car. In Pakistan the Custom tax of a used or new car is 200% and still authorized dealers are importing cars and government is getting tax on daily purpose, the cars ratio of importing is in thousands including all Japanese cars, and still government applied some new tax and import is closed now for some time. The cars which are already available in market are increasing day by day due to Dollar instability.
Now the Japanese car 660cc, price was 10lakh which increased to 14 lakh and the price ratio is same among all imported cars so you can apply this ratio to any of it and you can see the results. On the other hand the local market prices are getting higher than the sky, corolla GLI new price is 27 lakh, Honda Civic 41 lakh, Toyota Grande 40 lakh, Suzuki Cultus 19.75 lakh. These are the most best selling cars in all over Pakistan now they aren’t affordable any more. The government has to make new policies regarding local automobile company prices or should remove or lower import duty so that people can buy a low budget car with extensive features plus most important airbags.
The customers who want to buy a new car are now in problem because all showroom dealers have increased the car prices due to dollar rate and taxes. The rates of cars are increasingly day by day and there is no one to question them even government is not trying to stop local industry to control their rates.
If we talk about new companies they all want their car to be assembled in Pakistan but the workers are nor professionally trained secondly just a car is not good for customers when its parts are not available in market. New companies have to see what is going in local market and before launching cars they should provide auto mobile workshop owners all necessary car parts. It’s the important reason the big companies fall in Pakistan because when those car get in problem there is no solution because parts aren’t available in local market. KIA and HYUNDAI have launched their SUV’s and 1300cc cars but if they want their market to increase and boom like Honda Toyota, Suzuki they have to meet the market strategy of these companies.
